Since our region has a lot of fjords, islands and mountains,
the best way to get around is by rental car, but to Bergen
and Stavanger we have a bus-service called the
Coastal Bus Service ("Kystbussen") from the airport, parked
just outside the terminal. This bus takes
about 2,5 h to Stavanger and 3.5 h to Bergen - it
is a lovely journey where you also have one
fjord-crossing by a ferry.
If you travel with Ryanair you get a special fare by
showing your ticket or reference number:
From the Haugesund Airport to Stavanger:
NOK 130 one-way / Euro 16
From the Haugesund Airport to Bergen
NOK 180 one-way / Euro 22
The tickets can be easily bought in
advance on internet: www.kystbussen.no
If you want to travel around to see the fjords,
waterfalls, the glaciers, mountains etc., then we
will recommend you to rent a car. We don't have
a train-service and the bus-service is not
particularly good for such a purpose.
For rental cars - check out our offers from
Europcar - our partner by clicking
"Book a rental car" on the menu.
If you want to travel on your own by
car - check the ferry-tables here:
